The Indefinite Article = Kata Sandang Tak Tentu

The Indefinite Article terdiri dari a dan an, yang berarti: seorang, sebuah, sebutir, seekor, sepotong, sebatang.

• a dan an khusus hanya digunakan dengan Countable Nouns ( kata benda yang dapat dihitung ) dalam bentuk Singular (tunggal). Misalnya: boy, girl, book, pen, ox, ant.
• a dan an tak dapat digunakan dengan Uncountable Nouns (kata benda yang tidak dapat dihitung). Misalnya: water, milk, coffee, sugar, money ===> some money.
• Bentuk a digunakan sebelum kata benda yang dimulai dengan humf mati dan huruf hidup yang berbunyi seperti huruf mati. Misalnya: a man, a table, a university, a useful thing, a uniform
• Bentuk an digunakan sebelum kata benda yang dimulai dengan huruf hidup (a, e, i, o,u) dan kata yang dimulai dengan huruf h mati {a mute h). Misalnya: an idea, an apple, an hour, an honourable man, an explanation, an exercise, an ox, an umbrella
• Bentuk a dan an digunakan samauntuksemuajeniskelamin (gen¬der). Misalnya: a man, a woman, an actor, an actress, a lion, a lioness, a tiger, a tigress, an usher, an usherette.

The Definite Article = Kata Sandang Tertentu

The Definite Article adalah The, yang berarti : itu, ini. Kata sandang tertentu, the, diapakai untuk :

• Menunjuk kata benda yang telah disebut sebelumnya. E.g : I have a new book. The book is very interesting.
• Menyebut benda yang hanya ada satu. e.g; the moon, the sun, the earth, the only daughtei, the woi Id.
• The superlative degree of adjectives and adverbs / di depan superlative dari adjectives dan adverbs. e.g: the most beautiful, the cleverest, the biggest, the most difficult, the most quickly, the most stupid, the most interesting.

Attention:
